The studio was set up 5 minutes down the road in Meteghan but the spirit was at the beach and the sound was a consequence of that: laid back and intense.
The studio became a gathering place where collaborations were birthed and projects were founded. It became a hot spot for creativity and open minded approaches gathering interest from musicians, festival programmers, video game creators, filmmakers, writers, scriptwriters, architects and photographers to name a few. The ebb and flow of Tide had an intoxicating effect that drew creatives to it and became a venue for these ideas to form.
On the musical front artists like P’tit Belliveau, Mike a Vik and Arthur Comeau spearheaded the uncompromising sounds coming out of the Tide School camp. Their successes on multiple fronts speak to the effectiveness of the Tide School approach and the empowering nature of the record label.
Tide School went from beachdream to creative huddle to successful launchpad and now moving forward, the most exciting is yet to come. We envision augmenting our spaces and services we offer artists, festivals and creative businesses in order to spread more beach vibe and continue bridging the gap between our unique community and the world.
